Vyvy is the kind of nurse every parent hopes will walk through the door—the one you would choose, without hesitation, to care for your child.
As a parent and practicing RN, placing your child in someone else’s care—especially after a major surgery—is one of the most difficult things you can do.

Our 17-year-old son recently underwent massive reconstructive surgery to both his upper and lower jaw, and the experience could have been overwhelming and frightening. But because of Vyvy, it wasn’t. Vyvy cared for our son exactly the way we would have.

From the very beginning, she took the time to thoroughly review his chart and immediately recognized that he had experienced significant blood loss during surgery. She didn’t just note it—she acted on it. She maintained a vigilant watch on his oxygen saturation, level of consciousness, heart rate, blood pressure, skin color, and overall responsiveness, always staying a step ahead of any potential concerns.

Her clinical awareness and proactive approach gave us an immense sense of relief. Beyond her technical skill, Vyvy was everything you hope for in a nurse. She was engaging and spoke to my son in a way that made him feel safe and understood, even when he couldn’t communicate easily. She explained things clearly and calmly to both of us, never making us feel rushed or dismissed.

We trusted her completely, and that trust is something that cannot be overstated when you’re a parent in that situation. Vyvy is the kind of nurse every parent hopes will walk through the door—the one you would choose, without hesitation, to care for your child. Her compassion, attentiveness, and professionalism made a lasting impact on our family during a very vulnerable time.

We are deeply grateful for her care, and wholeheartedly believe she embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for.
