Walker Coleman

I have had several experiences working with student nurses over my career as an RN. I was so impressed by Walker's dedication to patients and helpful nature. He not only helped with my request but would go above and beyond helping my coworkers as well. One situation that sticks out to me was early in our time together, and while I was busy with another patient, he cleaned up my other patient, who had been having frequent bowel movements. This was a skill I trusted him to perform, unlike so many other student nurses or orienting new nurses. He took the initiative and did what was needed for the patient to ensure that she was clean and not uncomfortable for too long while waiting for me to be there.  This was a very simple task, but showed that he would take care of the patients and was afraid to get his hands dirty, so to speak. I am very grateful for the experience of working with him and see great things in his future.
