Wanda is the epitome of what it means to be an outstanding nurse. Some of Wanda’s greatness include staying late to chat with grieving patients, leaving notes on paper towels when parents are unable to be at the hospital with their babies, and creating a NICU-baby safe wagon in order to provide developmentally supportive care to a baby who had been in his room for 5 months. Not a single shift passes without hundreds of examples of Wanda’s greatness. She is selfless and compassionate beyond words and truly does what is best for her patients. There are way too many examples in this small space to explain why she is exceptional and truly irreplaceable! If I ever had a family member in the NICU, I’d hope someone like her would be there for them.
