It is with deep admiration and heartfelt gratitude that we submit this Lifetime DAISY Award nomination for our extraordinary Chief Nursing Officer, whose retirement marks the close of an era defined by visionary leadership, unwavering compassion, and an enduring legacy at AdventHealth for Children.
Throughout her remarkable career, she has demonstrated what it truly means to lead with purpose and heart. Her impact reaches far beyond the walls of our hospital—it lives on in the countless nurses, leaders, and interprofessional team members whose careers she has shaped. She has been a mentor, guide, and servant leader in the truest sense, consistently investing in others, lifting them up, and inspiring them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Her leadership was instrumental in elevating AdventHealth for Children to national excellence, including guiding our organization to a fourth Magnet designation—an achievement that reflects an unwavering commitment to nursing excellence, evidence-based practice, and a culture of continuous improvement. Her vision ensured that Magnet principles were not simply an aspiration, but a lived reality embedded in daily practice. Because of her, our teams have thrived in an environment that values professional governance, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence in every patient encounter.
On a personal level, we are profoundly grateful for the role she has played in the careers of so many Children’s Hospital leaders. She has been a trusted mentor, a steady guide, and an influential leader who always saw potential in others and created pathways for growth. Her feedback was always thoughtful, her expectations high yet encouraging, and her support unwavering. She taught us not only how to lead, but how to lead with kindness and courage, and she always infused it with her infectious love and humor. Because of this so many—have grown into stronger, more compassionate leaders.
