Wayne is a dedicated, hardworking, and professional nurse leader. He has exceptional interpersonal skills with all members of the healthcare team as well as the families of his patients on the inpatient rehab unit. Wayne is a seasoned nurse leader with experience across a variety of acute care units. Wayne is a life-long learner and holds his Master of Science degree in nursing in Leadership and Management. Wayne has been leading the Inpatient rehab unit during a time of growth and has managed our nurse extern program which is an excellent opportunity to expand the hiring of new graduate nurses. Wayne has facilitated a trusting, collaborative culture on the inpatient rehabilitation unit.

Wayne was asked to assume interim leadership for the 4T and telemetry monitoring center in August of 2020 in addition to his other responsibilities. This was a gigantic request as 4T was experiencing low morale, high turnover, and a generally defeated team. Wayne was able to keep the unit together and functioning and was able to demonstrate his support for the team. Wayne was available 24/7 and showed the team how a servant leader displays true leadership. WAMC will be forever grateful for all the work Wayne has done and continues to do to support our staff and ensure our patients receive world-class healthcare. Wayne continues to be a constant positive force for the team as well as the new leaders that have joined the 4T team.
