Wendee has worked at UI Hospitals and Clinics as an oncology nurse for 23 years. Before joining the outpatient Holden Clinical Cancer Center in 1993, she worked for many years in the inpatient hematology/oncology unit.
Wendee is an Oncology Certified Nurse and consistently demonstrates excellence in oncology nursing. She is an exceptional advocate for her patients and is known for her attentiveness to the psychosocial concerns that many of her oncology patients endure. She has special skills in end of life issues and assisting patients with maintaining dignity and comfort during their last weeks and days of life.
Wendee was nominated for the DAISY Award by the spouse of a cancer patient Wendee has cared for since 2002.
