June 2020 Honoree
wendell tipuden, RN
I got released this week from Roseville Medical Center for my 4th vascular surgery in 11 months. I've spent 19 nights and 21 days on my back in a hosptial bed and have received outstanding treatment from numerous nurses and nurse techs. Everyone I have come in contact with has provided excellent care. On past stays, I knew that the DAISY Award existed, but felt guilty singling out one person for recognition when everyone had done such a great job. This visit was different, and one nurse stood our above and beyond all others I have worked with and I'd like to see him recognized.
Wendell was assigned to provide care on 2 shifts when I was at my lowest point- 4 surgeries on the same area and wonderfing if life would ever return to normal. Wendell came to my room 3 hours after surgery and my first night in the hospital. When I complained about my situation, he was compassionate, listened, and assured me that things would get better. When I had issues with discomfort or pain, Wendell was there to discuss solutions to ease my situation. He was extremely efficient and knowledgeable in the delivery of his care and I am grateful for having had Wendell on my team for the two nights that he was there.
Thank you, Wendell! You were the best!
Thank you, Wendell, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
