I wish she knew how much her small acts of kindness mean to me. It was beyond the scope of medicine. It was the highest form of compassion I’ve experienced.
This has taken me a few months to type. Wendi made such a difference during the end of life with my grandma. First, she declined doing a CRI of morphine. Why? Because she liked coming in frequently to administer a bolus and check on my grandma and the family.

She grabbed ice cream for my grandma. What really made the world of difference was when she brought in an EKG tracing of my grandmother’s heart. This means more to me than she will ever know.

It was a long day, as we didn’t know how soon death would come. Wendi came in and paid for my aunt’s lunch. She insisted on buying. She also promised my grandma that she would have dentures looking clean for the funeral home. She did just that. We watched her brush her dentures to keep her clean.

I wish she knew how much her small acts of kindness mean to me. It was beyond the scope of medicine. It was the highest form of compassion I’ve experienced. I really wish she knew that I have thought about her almost every single day since my grandmother’s passing.
