Wendi not only provides great medical care to our patients, but she also provides extraordinary emotional care for families when a loved one dies. On two occasions, I have observed her sitting or kneeling beside distraught family members (one a young girl overcome by the death of her grandfather) bringing words of comfort together with comforting cold towels. Without lessening the medical care she provides, she's always ready with kind words and welcome hugs. I've also seen the outcomes in those she cares for: quieted cries, dried tears, and restored calmness.
