Wendy is truly an outstanding nurse. My mom has had a lot of nurses over the last 9 years, and Wendy is by far the best! She made an instant connection with mom and our family her first day of caring for her. She is genuinely empathetic and compassionate. Never in a million years would I have guessed she was a nurse for only 2 years. She immediately helped her get her pain/nausea under better control. She re-arranged her schedule to care for mom 3 days in a row. Mom looked forward to seeing her again the next couple of days. Mom would have a smile on her face as Wendy sat beside her and held her hand trying to help care for her. Wendy went out of her way to coordinate nurses who would fit mom's personality/needs. She was on top of the doctors and making sure orders were placed. She came in on her day off just to check in and see how mom was doing. She seriously goes above and beyond! Lastly, she brightened my day as she purchased me a balloon and a candy bar on my birthday. How deeply touched I was that she brought me joy on a day that was rather gloomy. I believe Wendy should conduct a class on how to genuinely care for patients and their families! She is a dream come true!
