Wendy was nominated by in March of this year by ST who observed her compassion in dealing with a family who experienced the loss of an infant. She and TD took time to create a memento for that family despite how painful it might have been for them personally. Wendy was also nominated the end of July by a physician, Dr. MC.
Dr. C wrote that she is a new physician to the PMC Physician Network - and one evening was asked to fill in at the hospital when a hospitalist was out sick. She is an outpatient pediatrician at Sutton Road Pediatrics, so she does not usually treat newborn patients in the hospital setting, and being new to our system, she was not yet set up in the computer system and wasn't very familiar with where everything was in the hospital. Luckily, Wendy was there to help. She contacted the IS department and was able to get Dr. C's computer access set up within 10 minutes. Wendy also walked her through the discharge process for 3 newborns who were ready to go home. Wendy then made sure to show Dr. C where the Pediatric floor was located, introduced her to the staff and provided Dr. C with her contact information so she could be reached with any additional issues or questions. She wrote that she was very happy to have Wendy's help that night as she went above and beyond to help a new physician and make things go smoothly for the patients."

Wendy is a Leader in every area of nursing - bedside, leadership, community, and education. Wendy strives to be an advocate for all patients and works hard to provide education to all members of the family. You will find Wendy at PMC on her off days working on ways to improve on education, increase our class offerings, or working on ways to market our hospital as a whole. Wendy is a true representation on Piedmont Pride and we are proud to have her on our team!
