I have worked for Cone Health for almost 30 years and have worked in different departments in the system. I can honestly say Wendy Franks has been one of the nurse leaders who has impacted my decision to stay in the system and continue doing what I love best. Patient care. Wendy is there to listen to you not just on job-related issues but also when you just want to vent. Since I am so far away from my family, it means a lot. Wendy will not hesitate to jump in and take an assignment to relieve her staff nurses. She will recognize things like birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries, and she will personally go out of her way to make us feel special. I couldn't ask for a better DON, hence my nomination.
