It’s easy for someone to see a challenge like her hearing as a hindrance or annoyance, but Wendy didn’t.
We brought our 94-year-old mother into the ER. After 19 hours there, we landed on the 8th floor where we were lucky enough to have Wendy as our nurse. My mom is hard of hearing, and we use a whiteboard to communicate with her. Wendy took that in stride. With a combination of the whiteboard, her smile, and caring for my mom, she had absolutely no issues with her care. We were lucky enough to have her for the 3 days my mom was a patient, and I saw firsthand how my mom would smile at her whenever they interacted. It’s easy for someone to see a challenge like her hearing as a hindrance or annoyance, but Wendy didn’t. She was supportive to me and my mom during our short stay and made a trying situation so much better. Thank you, Wendy!
