When Wendy walked into the room our eyes locked and she gave me a hug.
I was diagnosed with cancer. The Nebraska Med Center was our first choice for treatment. When I made the appointment, little did I know that this amazing lady would be there with me every step of the way. When Wendy walked into the room our eyes locked and she gave me a hug. I could tell she knew how this was affecting me. That hug and conversation assured me I was in the right place. I was so relieved that she was going to be with me through this process.

She has continually been there for me and supported me with any questions and concerns that I have had. I have sent her messages at night, on weekends, and during the workdays and she always responds. When I was weak and needed fluids from radiation/chemo, she encouraged me to go to the hospital and get that done. If I was not feeling well, she helped me know what to take. She also explained every step of the way what to expect with treatments and how to help with side effects. Wendy does all of this with such care and compassion. I never feel uneasy about asking her any questions. She is always there for me. This is so comforting, and I can’t tell you how much Wendy means to me.

This hasn’t been an easy journey and definitely an unexpected diagnosis as I have lived a healthy life with exercise and healthy eating. But I have learned that that doesn’t always matter. As devastating of a diagnosis as it is, I am so thankful that I have Wendy and the Nebraska Med Center to be with me on this journey and I thank God that he has put me in such amazing care. Thank you so much.
