Wendy is a credit to Hayward House and our NHS as a whole, and we sincerely hope that she will receive credit and appreciation; she will live in our memories for many years.
Friday, late afternoon, a nurse/sister called the family in as she believed that Mum was dying, and when we arrived separately, she explained the situation clearly that the end was close; this also enabled my 18- 18-year-old grandson to be driven down from Rotherham to get there in time.
We would like to single out a most wonderful deputy sister, Wendy James-Pymm (Big Wend) who was frankly incredible; we felt totally supported throughout the final hour or so, in particular, the last thirty minutes. Wendy was so calm, and that is a special gift, knowing when to speak, when to guide, when and how to help us navigate Mum's final moments and afterward, too.

Hayward House is a shining light on how patient/relatives care can be provided, even in the darkest hours, with love, care, and compassion.
