My son came into the ER at 5:30 AM with what we thought was just strep throat. After a CT, we found out he had an abscess and may need surgery. He was SO nervous. When we were transferred to the 3rd floor, he was barely speaking. When we got off the elevator, we heard "Hi C! Good to see you!" Like a long-lost friend had just spotted us. Until Wendy left at the end of her shift, we felt like C was the most important (and favorite) patient on the floor. She answered every question he had in depth, made inside jokes about his popsicle obsession, and was never hurried or short. WE LOVED HER!! Incredible, incredible nurse & now friend. C wrote- "Thank you, Wendy! for everything."
