This nurse helped saved my life, literally. They listened to me when I cried, and they told me to stop feeling sorry for myself and start dealing with the recovery part of my life.
I lost my leg from above the knee on the right side and my toes on the left. I wanted to end my life because of everything I was going through. I lost hope and wasn’t happy. I was constantly in pain and sad. All I thought about was how I can end my life, so I don’t have to face another day like this.

Then I met my nurse at Grady. This nurse helped saved my life, literally. They listened to me when I cried, and they told me to stop feeling sorry for myself and start dealing with the recovery part of my life. They have truly been a huge help to me and my stay here at Grady.

This nurse gave me the strength I couldn’t find by myself, and I began working with PT and trying to do the things my Doctors wanted me to do so I could get better. Before that, I was just lying in bed in a very depressive state, not doing anything or letting anyone help me.

This nurse is an awesome nurse and my friend. I don’t know where I would be right now if not for their encouragement and constant willingness to help me get better.
