December 2013 Honoree
wendy mitchell, RN
My son and I brought my daughter J to the ER. She recently lost her fiance in a motorcycle accident weeks before her wedding. She was borderline suicidal and needed an intervention. The nurse we had, Wendy, was wonderful. She sat next to my daughter and showed understanding and compassion to my daughters condition. She took the time to calm and comfort her, and not just run in and out of the room. She truly cared about my daughter and treated her with the utmost kindness and sympathy. She should be commended for being a very special nurse. She couldn't have been more needed by my daughter at that time. She was the one with understanding and calm words that eased my daughter's fears. Please acknowledge this nurse for being not just a great nurse but a truly compassionate person.
Thank you, Wendy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
