My husband was there to get ready for knee surgery, at which time we met Wendy, who was a Godsend. She put my husband through all the tests and so forth that he had to have, at which time he had an EKG, which was not good. We had to go to our doctor for more pre-op before his knee replacement. Our doctor was on vacation at which time we had a nurse practitioner who "okayed" my husband for surgery. However, Wendy called me and said she would not "okay" him for surgery. She called the doctor's office and told them she wanted his test checked by one of the doctors there. The doctor called my husband and said he had to see a heart specialist right away. He went; the heart doctor said his test was bad, he would have to have a triple bypass, as there was no blood being pumped to the front part of his heart. He had surgery and he's home doing very well. The doctor told us had my husband had the knee surgery, he would not have woken up. His nurse saved his life. She was so good to us and we feel like she really cares. The doctor told my husband that his knee is the best friend he had and the one who stopped the surgery. You obtained a real jewel when you employed Wendy. There sure aren't many like her who care. To most, it's just a job and when you're in your 80's, to most, you're just a number. We will always love her for caring and doing her job. It's more than just a job to her. She is a very special person who cares.
