| I would like to nominate Wendy Skinner for The DAISY Award. My husband had hip replacement surgery 3 times over the course of a few months. He was blessed and fortunate to have Wendy as his recovery nurse the last two times. Wendy is an amazing nurse! She is professional and extremely knowledgeable! She explained everything that she was doing for my husband and why it was being done. She was kind, compassionate, patient, caring, and attentive every second he was in her care! Wendy understood and cared about my husband's pain, anxiety, and frustration with having a hip replacement (on the same hip) three times in less than four months. Wendy accompanied my husband to the hospital room both times and made sure he was "set up correctly." During his last hospital stay, she visited him every morning, bringing him coffee and checking on him (she knew I could not stay due to Covid). She even replaced his IV when his nurse was struggling and unable to do it. As I said, Wendy IS an AMAZING NURSE! But she IS an even MORE AMAZING, COMPASSIONATE, and CARING human being! If anyone was ever deserving of the DAISY Award, Wendy definitively is! She goes WAY over and above her job description and pay scale! Wendy truly made a difference that we will never forget! We are extremely thankful for her! |
