Wenona Lowery, RN

Wenona is an absolute angel of a nurse. She is always willing to lend a hand and no matter how busy she is with her own work she always says, “the patient comes first.” On this particular day, we were severely understaffed, struggling to keep up with patient acuity, Wenona made sure that the patients in her clinic were cared for and she immediately began helping other nurses in a different clinic with their chemo patients. If anyone knows anything about chemotherapy, time is of the essence. Wenona began starting IVs, and stocking supplies ensuring that every patient had what he/she needed. With a chemo clinic of her own, she was willing to take an assignment in another clinic just so patients would be cared for. She is an asset to the infusion clinic, and we are incredibly lucky to have such a kind and generous nurse working with us who is always willing to go above and beyond for her team and most importantly for our Veterans.
