Wes Colvin, RN

Wes Colvin was so compassionate and understanding of my daughter and her needs. She has high functioning autism with sensory disorders, but Wes knew this before he walked in the room. He took the time to know my daughter as his patient. She was fearful of getting the IV. Wes took great pains to make her feel comfortable. He very patiently explained everything he was going to do before he did it. He showed her exactly which IV he was going to use for her and let her see how it was going to work before she decided to let Wes try to start the IV. Wes also used numbing spray on her arm to make her more comfortable. She agreed to let Wes attempt the IV. She is scared of needles, so this was a big step. He was able to get the IV on the first stick. He was very gentle and caring. She trusted Wes and actually asked where he was when she came back from recovery. I truly feel Wes went above and beyond to make a scary frightful day for my daughter more comfortable and much easier. Wes is a lifesaver in my book!
