My husband had a circular saw accident resulting in traumatic injury to his hand. He was transported to Barnes by ambulance from a rural county. My husband has been a firefighter/paramedic for 30 years and I have been an RN for 20 years. We both agree that Wesley, the nurse assigned to him is the best nurse we have seen for many years. His knowledge, skill, and bedside manner were phenomenal. He made a scary and stressful situation so much better. He went above and beyond in so many ways I lost count. I can’t tell you how comforting it was to have him there and will be eternally grateful for the care he provided to both of us. The experience reignited my passion for the profession which is something I truly needed as well. Experiencing things from a patient’s perspective reminded me that what we do as nurses matters- he made a difference in our lives that night
