My wife and I welcomed our first little one in December, and his name is J. We were so excited to meet him, but this joy was quickly replaced with concern and sleepless nights as we found out that he was struggling with feeding, and it had led to frequent desaturations. Though we were reassured this can happen, it still rattles my wife and me. This is where your team comes in. Andrea (days), Pam (nights), and Sarah (PRN) were the nurses we had worked with the most; Andrea specifically, since she was days, and we barely left J. Everyone was kind, patient, reassuring, and, to put it simply, what I feel embodies the nursing profession. They had helped us feel more confident about J’s condition and his improvement, and spent what we felt were countless hours coaching us on what to consider when caring for our little one.

We had left J in Pam’s hands at night, and we could actually sleep because we knew he was in good hands. Andrea, though, shone brightest amongst the already stellar team. Over the week J was admitted, we got to know Andrea as a person and felt she was someone we could actually talk to. She gently coached us when we needed it and celebrated with us when we took steps in the right direction. I could go on and on about how your team had changed my family and my life for the better, but to keep it short, thank you to everyone who helped us get through one of the tougher times in our lives. I know Magnet moments are big at Froedtert facilities, and I feel this was too big not to share. Thank you for everything.
