She goes beyond a positive attitude and is an early adopter and advocate when we introduce a new process or protocol.
Whitney has been an exemplary model of what an ambulatory nurse is capable of, and one who truly shines in the face of adversity and challenge. Whitney consistently displays a high standard of professionalism, problem-solving, and solution-focused inquiry. She goes beyond a positive attitude and is an early adopter and advocate when we introduce a new process or protocol. These attributes became a solid foundation for our clinical response when we were hit with the COVID pandemic.

Whitney displays grace under pressure, never turning her back on her colleagues when they need help. She does not go home at the end of her shift until she knows that every patient call had been addressed and ensures that the RN work is covered, never once has she complained. She is a passionate advocate for our patients and is always modeling our Mission and Core Values. On top of her regular duties and the management of the clinical teams during our vaccination events, Whitney also attended a three-day Critical Incident Stress Management Training Course—yet another way to be of support to her colleagues and her community. Her willingness to be rock solid to her team and her heartfelt desire to help is truly inspiring.

Whitney was able to take seven days of PTO this year, and that is when I truly recognized how much she does around here and how much we all depend on her. Throughout these seven days, I recognized how much the team and I needed her wisdom and knowledge--and everyone felt the impact of her absence. I have worked with many nurses over the years and have rarely encountered a nurse with all the characteristics that Whitney displays.
