Whitney, the nurse in CVRU, was exceptional. As a registered nurse of over 20 years myself, I can adamantly agree that Whitney exemplifies what a nurse should be, both clinically and personally. Not only was she caring and compassionate, but she went above and beyond to even check on patients on another floor that she had previously taken care of to follow up on their healing. She went above and beyond for my mother, caring for her. Whitney is not just a compassionate nurse, but somebody who is very knowledgeable in her area of expertise. I was very impressed. She put my mind at ease, knowing that I could leave my mom and go home over an hour away, and that she would be taken care of adequately. She made sure my mom was cared for not only medically, but holistically as well, which is extremely important to me. She truly exemplifies what a nurse should be!

Whitney was calm on a noisy day. She never once showed an ounce of frustration as we had many questions and treated my relative as if he were the only patient in the ICU. She has impeccable bedside manners and the utmost empathy. Whitney was personable, and though my relative was not alert, she continued to talk to him. It warms my heart that there are such great nurses as Whitney. Oftentimes, we never know the impact we have on individuals, especially in times of crisis. Whitney was certainly that angel for my family today.
