My husband is often out of breath because of his history of smoking. He did not realize he was having shortness of breath during our discharge meeting with Whitney until she spoke to him about it. Over the next few days, my husband became very ill with pneumonia. His oxygen saturation level became worse over several days. It was hard on him. I was very scared for several days but thankfully he became stable. On the day of discharge, Whitney bounced in our hospital room like a university cheerleader. Her joy over his progress gave us joy. My husband and I truly believe Whitney saved his life. I thank God for Whitney and her observation and quick attention.

Thank you, Whitney, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
