Whitney was so respectful, caring, and comforting down to the last moment when we said our goodbyes.
We delivered our stillborn baby at 37-weeks via C-section. It was unexpected and devastating. It was our first pregnancy, and we were in such shock. There were many great nurses, but Whitney was extremely helpful and kind. The hospital offered a cuddle cot to keep our baby cool so we could spend a few days together while in recovery. Nobody could get it to work, and we started to worry the little time we had would be cut short. She Googled it, watched YouTube, swapped cots, gave us cold blankets, and tried everything she could until it started working - all on top of her normal duties and the unit being full.

Others had assumed it was just broken, but she did not give up. We were so thankful to get 3 days to spend with our sweet baby. This made a world of a difference for us to have more time to see and say goodbye. She was also very informative of postpartum care. She let me know I had a lot of options and offered to give me more information if I wanted. Ex: donating milk, therapy, etc. but made it clear she wasn't pushing it at all. Anything I asked about she was happy to help or explain. She was so respectful, caring, and comforting down to the last moment when we said our goodbyes. Her help and extra efforts made a world of difference for our family and our grieving process during a time that was both our hardest and most beautiful moments. It's truly something we'll never forget.
