Whitney was recognized for the extraordinary care she provided for one of our patients. Whitney first met our patient in the Neuro Endocrine Tumor Clinic and continued to provide care for him on the Medical-Surgical Unit. She was nominated by the patient's wife after he passed away.
Whitney's care was exceptional. My husband was so scared and could not sleep for several nights. Whitney took the time to hold his hand, look into his eyes, and listen as he expressed his fear of dying. Whitney provided comfort and allowed him to say what was in his heart. Whitney and my husband formed a special relationship after that experience, and she was truly an Extraordinary Nurse for my husband. Thank you, Whitney, for your care and compassion.
