From the very first day of treatment to the last day before daddy's passing, Whitney was always there for each of us. Daddy thoroughly respected her and appreciated her and her thoughtfulness like no one else. Whitney always just came to check on daddy even when she was not assigned to his pod. That in and of itself meant the world to each of us.
Daddy was a very hard stick; Whitney, however, could take her time with him and got him every time with little to no bruising. Daddy always held a cross in his hands through his entire journey. Towards the end of his treatments, one day he somehow set it down. Long story short, it went missing, likely into the laundry, and that in of itself was hard to grasp. But God...we called, talked to many people who checked and watched out for it... The next week the cross was still nowhere to be found. But at the counter to infusions, daddy had a gift waiting for him... Whitney wrote daddy the kindest letter and left him a cross her mother had held throughout her own treatments. This is who Whitney is...thoughtful, caring, sweet as can be! Our Family loved her so much and appreciated everything you did for daddy.
