Even though my father has now passed, he would've wanted Will to know how much he appreciated his care.
Will was my father's night shift nurse. And he was an amazing one at that! My father, while having Stage 4 terminal cancer, also had high anxiety, and he was never able to sleep in his room. He was only comfortable out at the big windows with seating (the side looking out onto the roads). There was a desk he could get comfy at. Will was his nurse for many nights, and I stayed with my dad all the nights he took care of him. Will was the kindest, most caring person. Will didn't care if Dad wasn't in his room. He'd walk all the way down to check on him and his pain and let us know if he had a scheduled dose.

Will truly showed us what proper care was. It felt like he cared very much about my father and my family. He was so gentle and kind. On the last couple of nights there, I had to walk my dad in a wheelchair to help him sleep, and Will would always wave from the other end of the hallway, or he'd walk up to us to ask how Dad was doing and give him meds as needed. Will went above and beyond to also keep my family comfortable, like finding a recliner to go into that area where my dad slept so I didn't have to sleep on the floor or a chair. With my dad's cancer, I have seen a lot of great nurses and a lot of bad ones. Will is truly exceptional. Even though my father has now passed, he would've wanted Will to know how much he appreciated his care. So, thank you so much, Will. You were able to help Dad rest while he was in your care, and we will never be able to repay you for that!
