He was so kind and reassuring to mom. His upbeat mood and positive attitude kept our anxiety level manageable.
We would like to thank out Mom's ICU nurse, Bill. We had taken our mom out to eat for her 80th birthday. In the middle of the meal, we watched a sudden change in mom. She suddenly stopped chewing. She looked confused. She was trying to talk but her words were all slurred. We repeatedly told her to spit out her food, but she couldn't. She started drooling. We decided to call 911 and the medics came. She ended up in the Miamisburg ER. She had wonderful care in the ER, but it was all a blur.
She ended up in the ICU. Bill was like a breath of fresh air! He was very attentive to every detail. He fixed her sandwich the way she liked it. When he realized she had come in on her birthday, he ordered her a special cake from the cafeteria! He was protective of her privacy and always asked anyone who did not need to be there to step out when he needed to change/clean her. That was very appreciated and respectful of her. He was so kind and reassuring to mom. His upbeat mood and positive attitude kept our anxiety level manageable.
Even though he was there for my mom, he spent time talking to us, her daughters, explaining everything. He made it understandable for those of us with zero medical knowledge. He was clearly knowledgeable, and we felt very comfortable knowing he was taking care of her. Bill's friendly, easy-going personality made us feel welcome in our mom's room. He offered her things before we even asked. I could go on and on... He provided the BEST, most personable nursing care we have ever experienced. We want him to know that he is a blessing to patients and their families.
