Will always had the answer and treated her and us with great care and respect.
My 87-year-old Mother-in-law returned to the hospital last week with some serious infections. To say the least, she was extremely sick, and we were very worried about her. During her stay, Will was her nurse for several days, she was on that floor. Will exemplified our Pledge of Patient First. There were days when she was incoherent or sleeping the whole time. Will approached her and the family with care in mind. He was always responsive to her needs and our questions. No matter what was asked he fixed the problem or answered the question in a prompt manner. One time she mentioned that her teeth felt slimy, next thing I know Will was in the bathroom brushing them for her. That may be a very simple thing, but when you can’t get up to do it yourself and someone just promptly takes care of it, that means the world. Having clean teeth made her so happy. You could just see her gleaming with happiness!

Will always had the answer and treated her and us with great care and respect.

I have worked at Covenant for nearly 29 years and travel to all the facilities frequently. Fortunately, it isn’t often that I’m on the receiving end of the care but to have someone like Will to step in and step up to provide that care reminds me that caring comes from the heart. Will demonstrated everything the DAISY Award represents – passion, excellence, trust/teamwork, attitude, learn & listen, and safety.
