A patient was admitted via the Emergency Department for symptomatic bradycardia and chest pain. The patient was brought emergently to the Cardiac Cath lab for a heart catheterization and temporary pacemaker placement. Soon after arrival to the cath lab, the patient complained of severe back pain while lying on the cath table. Bill advocated for the patient to immediately be taken to CT scan after the cath lab before going to the ICU. The CT scan revealed severe aortic dissection and was subsequently critical information for further patient diagnosis and treatment. Bill showed integrity and the importance of advocating for patients.
