Will told us with tears in his eyes that J was not alone that he held him in his arms until the end.
I had the honor of watching Will in action for several days with my husband prior to J's passing. Will went above and beyond his duties in every way to make J comfortable and always asked me if there was anything else he could do for me. He made sure that all my needs were met and that J's pain level was kept at a minimum as much as possible. He would explain how they were managing the pain and that he was giving Ativan and a pain reliever and that they would switch between the two for anxiety and pain relief. I could leave at night knowing that J was in great hands with all of the staff but especially with Will. My oldest son was coming in from Idaho and my youngest was already here to meet with the staff on J's plan of action. Will made sure that everything was going as planned and all the pieces were in place. Unfortunately, J passed away before this could happen. I had stepped away to go get my youngest son and when we got back J had already passed away and Will had to tell us that it was over. I was beside myself because I did not want J to pass away without his family there by his side. Will told us with tears in his eyes that J was not alone that he held him in his arms until the end. He said that J knew of the love that his family had for him. Will asked my son and me to give him a few moments to get J ready so that we could see him and that he would come to get us. He had completely taken out all of the extra machines etc. and everything looked pristine. My husband looked like he was totally at peace and Will told me that he was. Will never stopped caring and he didn't give up even though the outcome didn't look good. I am so glad that he was there for J and for our family.
