I want to thank William for taking excellent care of a patient I received from him. I have not met Will personally, but I spoke to him over the phone. He was polite, organized, cheerful, and thorough in our conversation. Not only that, the patient spoke of him highly. The patient with end-stage CHF took her time to tell me how wonderful he was. The patient was 86 years old and remembered details about her positive visit because of angels like him.
The patient also was impressed because Will has been a nurse for 2 years. William put the patient at ease when he transferred her to my unit. He told her that she will be in a VIP suite and he gave her a card and a flower. I have been a nurse for 16 years and Will raised the bar higher for me. Will sets an example of compassion, professionalism, and excellence. When I get very old, I want someone like Will to take care of me. I almost cried when the patient was talking about him.
