We brought our 6-year-old into the emergency room after he had been running a fever off and on for over a week. The emergency room can be a scary place for a 6-year-old who is just not feeling well.
Will walked in with a smile on his face, and it brought such comfort to my grandson. Will made my grandson feel comfortable and answered all of our questions. He made sure we understood everything, even printing out a dosage chart so we knew exactly what measurement we needed to give my grandson.
After the doctor came in and did his assessment, we received a diagnosis of Type A flu and a really aggressive ear infection. The doctor told us what he was prescribing, what we needed to do, and then said he was discharging my grandson.
Will brought us the discharge paperwork and retook my grandson's temperature. His temperature had gone up along with his heart rate, so Will said he was going to suggest to the doctor that we stay until his temperature went down.
He made us feel so comfortable and made us feel so well cared for. He had other patients to tend to, but it felt like he was our own personal nurse. He had such a calm and caring nature. I instantly felt at ease when he started talking.
He had my grandson smiling and laughing, which made him forget he had a 102° fever and a severe earache. In a scary situation, he made our family and my grandson, the patient, feel so relaxed.
I have been to emergency rooms before where I felt like just a number on someone's list to care for. He took his job to the highest level with the most exceptional care.
My grandson kept asking for Will whenever he would leave the room. He definitely left a lasting impression on my grandson.
