Wilma Foreman 3, MSN, RN, CCRN

My mother recently had a 10-day hospital stay after open heart surgery. She received outstanding care from her nurse, Wilma. My mom's biggest challenge in recovery was her relentless nausea. In addition to providing medical interventions and attempts to comfort my mother, Wilma mentioned how ginger candies might help. Days after transferring out of the ICU, Wilma came to check on my mom in her new hospital room. She surprised my mom with ginger candy and ginger tea. She didn't have to do this and it was nothing we ever would have expected. Wilma's thoughtfulness and kindness have left a lasting impression on my whole family. Wilma embodies what it means to be a DAISY Nurse and my whole family is extremely thankful to have benefited from her care.
