Wilselyn (Hazel) Romarate, RN
I would like to put forward Hazel for recognition for the outstanding care and kindness she has shown during my hospital stay.
From the very beginning, Hazel stood out for her gentle, thoughtful nature. She has a way of making you feel safe and truly cared for, even during the most overwhelming and uncertain moments. What makes Hazel so special is the way she notices the little things — whether it’s taking extra time to check in, offering quiet reassurance, or simply being present when it’s needed most.
During a time when I have been dealing with both difficult physical challenges and my mental health, Hazel brought a sense of calm that made a huge difference to me. She never made me feel like just another patient; she treated me as an individual, with genuine empathy and respect. Her approach is never rushed or clinical — it is warm, patient, and deeply human.
What also really stood out is her thoughtfulness. Hazel consistently went out of her way to make things easier for me, often anticipating what I might need before I even had to ask. That level of attentiveness is rare and speaks volumes about the kind of nurse and person she is.
She carries herself with quiet professionalism and compassion, and it’s clear she brings comfort not only to me but to so many others around her. Hazel is an absolute asset to the NHS, and I truly believe she deserves recognition for the care, dignity, and kindness she brings to her role every single day.
