Winnie Clayton, RN

Upon first contact with my husband, Winnie exuded warm sensitivity, deep concern, and true compassion for his needs. Due to paralysis and a number of pressure wounds over his body, he needed to be turned consistently by caregiving aids every 2 hours. From the beginning Winnie really listened to my concerns about his pressure wounds and that very night she devised a plan on his room board when and in what direction to turn him every 2 hours intervals throughout her shift. She personally helped clean him and made his wound care a priority on her shift. I could see my husband relax in her care those nights Winnie attended to him. He felt safe as well each time I left him over night. I pray that Winnie is recognized and awarded for her unselfish service to patients like my husband.
