I was taken to the Piedmont emergency room with a diagnosis of kidney injury. Pedemonte is a teaching hospital so when I arrived there was a team of young interns in my room. I did not know who was who in the lineup of people. Finally, as people cleared from the room I came to understand that Woody was my main daytime nurse for the next 2 days. We quickly came to realize that he was a man dedicated to the welfare of the patient. If there was a question about procedure, medications, treatment, or any other question, he was available with answers. If he did not immediately know the answer he searched out the answer, consulted the computer, or contacted the doctor or relevant person in charge. We found that he was easy to talk to and understood so many areas of interest. Most of all he had me as his patient in his heart. I can unreservedly say that Woody is a DAISY Nurse.
