Normally I can find the right words to say thank you, but with Woomera it's different. She has been a part of my healing process since I came into the hospital with a COPD flareup. It was a bad one, and I had to admit I was scared. She got me to calm down and pay attention to what she said to do. I felt so safe with her. She's very disciplined -- meds always on time and breathing treatments. Always on standby if I need something. I think I am feeling much better with Woomera's care, and it's not just the physical. Prior to coming into hospital, I had some long-term regrets that I couldn't put to rest. We had a lot in common, and one day I was feeling so much anxiety. I told Woomera about it. She sat on the bed with me and put her arms around me, and I released that sadness. I cannot thank her enough for giving me that peace and calm. After 35 years, I can let it go to God. Woomera is more than a DAISY Nurse. She is a kindred spirit.

***

Woomera was our first nurse here. We hadn't learned that it was a stroke my mom had suffered, so we were all a bit flustered. She was very patient with me as I shared the laundry list of medications and the conditions my mom has. When we were done, I was certain there would be no gaps in her treatment. She's also a lovely conversationalist. Mom loved her stories. Woomera helped keep us calm through the scariest time. Her great smile helps a whole bunch!

Thank you, Woomera, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
