Woronat addresses and acknowledges each patient on our floor with a genuine smile and embracing interaction. She is accessible at any given time and if she is too busy, she always follows up to see if her help is still needed. I call her the "Oracle" for she is a person considered to interface wise counsel. She always carries a smile and a laugh, whether it is to laugh at you or with you. I can truly say that because of Woronat's leadership and knowledge, I have become a better nurse. She nourishes the younger nurses, challenges them, and prepares them for a life of giving, serving, and caring for all patients.

Recently, Woronat encouraged me to attend the fall/patient safety fair, and I initially told her I wasn't interested. By the time the class was starting, she invited me one more time, and so I went although I just wanted to go home. Later that week we had a patient fall on the unit and Woronat called me to help lift. I recalled the information that I had learned at the patient safety fair, and reminded her that we could use the equipment. She was so thankful for my remembering of what we learned, but I owe many thanks to her - because without her encouragement, I would have not attended the in-service nor would I had gained the knowledge of safe patient handling.
