She exhibited a level of ease and competence in her expertise in nursing skills. She seemed to move instinctively with the interventions in sustaining my husband’s life.
My husband and I returned from a vacation in Egypt where he had contracted traveler's diarrhea, with his preexisting conditions, matters were made worse. He was depleted. We came to the ER straight from the Atlanta International Airport. After being triaged, he was admitted to the ICU. Ms. Wynne, RN introduced herself, and explained his lab numbers, procedures, and the medical interventions that would take place. Each time an alarm beeped she would appear ready to take command and reassure us what it meant. She exhibited a level of ease and competence in her expertise in nursing skills. She seemed to move instinctively with the interventions in sustaining my husband’s life. I held up pretty well until the dialysis treatment had to be done ….and then broke down and wept out of control. Ms. Wynne hugged me and allowed me to ‘let it all out,’ and I did just that! The magnitude of saving my husband’s life was right before me for three days with her expertise and kind words. My husband’s condition improved enough to be transferred to the Medical unit. I am eternally grateful to ALL who assisted with his care. Ms. Wynne is an asset and valued employee to your organization. Let’s honor her empathy, compassion, her expertise, and dedication to her patient, their families, and the nursing profession with this award.
