Wynnette Bouma was A's first nurse in the Infusion Center - when we were still terrified of the cancer diagnosis. I remember carrying in my 60-pound child from the car because she had lost the ability to walk because of chemotherapy. When I walked into the Infusion Center, Wynnette immediately made some calls and before I walked out of infusion that day, A already had a wheelchair and a prescription for a showering bench.
It changed our lives and made an extremely heartbreaking situation actually liveable.
