During my time on the second floor, I had the privilege of being cared for by Xzavier, whose compassion and dedication left a lasting impression on me. From the very beginning, she went far beyond what I expected, demonstrating not only clinical excellence but also a genuine commitment to my comfort and well-being. 

What stood out the most was her attentiveness and ability to truly listen. At every point during my stay, she made me feel heard and understood. She never dismissed my concerns or minimized my pain. Instead, she responded with patience, empathy, and thoughtful care. In moments when I felt uncomfortable or uncertain, her calm and reassuring presence made a meaningful difference. 

There was a particular instance that highlighted her dedication. My room had become uncomfortably hot, which added to my distress. Although this situation was completely outside of her control, she took it upon herself to find a solution. She went out of her way to locate a portable fan from another nurse's station, ensuring that I could be more comfortable. It was a small gesture on the surface, but it reflected a deeper level of care. She saw a problem and took initiative to fix it, simply because she wanted to make me feel better. 

Her commitment didn’t stop there. She continued to provide exceptional care throughout my entire stay, remaining attentive, responsive, and kind until the very moment I was wheeled out. Her consistency, professionalism, and compassion never wavered. She treated me not just as a patient, but as a person deserving of dignity, respect, and comfort.

It is clear that she embodies the true spirit of nursing. Her actions reflect the kind of selfless care and dedication that the DAISY Award is meant to recognize. I’m deeply grateful for the role she played in my experience, and I can say with confidence that her impact will not be forgotten.
