Yamin Nwe, RN

Recently, a 5-month-old was brought into the PEDS ER in critical condition and with an already extensive medical history. Yamin worked hard to make sure that not only the patient, but the parents were well taken care of. When the patient was ready to transport to another facility, Yamin recognized the need for Nitric Oxide and worked with the house supervisor and Respiratory Therapy to make sure the patient had it before transport.

When the patient was being moved to the stretcher, Yamin quickly realized that the patient’s health was quickly declining. Recognizing that the patient was cyanotic and was experiencing bradycardia, she started CPR and ventilations. Thanks to Yamin, the patient was stabilized and was able to be safely transported to a specialized facility. Her nominee stated, “Yamin‘s knowledge and quick thinking has not only helped save this one patient but many in the past. She goes above and beyond daily for her team, as well as her patients, as previously mentioned. She deserves to be recognized for the compassion she gives day in and out.
