May 2024 Honoree
Yana Kovtun
What I loved about Yana was how willing she was to get to know her patients. She wasn't timid or quiet; she would get right up beside them, ask them questions, teach them things, and listen to their concerns. She has a maturity about her that many students don't have yet. I would've thought that she had been working in a hospital for quite some time, but in fact, I don't think she's worked as a tech or CNA ever. She wants to be a nurse for the right reasons, to serve and help others, and that's apparent to me.
Thank you, Yana, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
