Yana Vasilenko, RN

Yana was taking care of a patient with an elderly cat at home. The patient needed intubation to save her life and refused this intervention because she had cats at home. Yana helped the patient arrange help (Rover) for her cats so she could receive the care she needed.

Yana went above and beyond in a critical situation. She cared for the patient holistically, as animals are a big part of emotional health. Not only did Yana help to save the life of her patient, she most likely saved the life of the patient's cats, too. Yana continues to check to make sure the service is visiting the cats.
