Yanela Mendez 2, BSN, RN

From the moment I met Nurse Nela, she made me feel safe, seen, and truly cared for. I was extremely nervous about a heart procedure I will be having, and the anxiety was overwhelming. But Nela was there for me every step of the way. She was reassuring and very compassionate. She treated me like family, she was attentive and patient, and made sure I never felt alone. Her presence was comforting, her words were kind, and she truly went above and beyond in every way. Nela helped ease my fears and made an incredibly stressful experience feel like everything was going to be okay. She is truly a very special nurse, and I will always remember the impact she had on me during such a difficult time. Nurses like Nela make all the difference in the world, and she truly deserves this recognition.
